All of us have had a massage at some point in our lives. Whether it be a simple one from a family member or friend or going to a spa and getting one, massages will always help you! At Expressions we have 2 amazing massage therapists, Sherry Ross and Becky Vandenberg. Sherry comes from a long backround of working in this field for 10+ years. Becky is new to the field and has the newest techniques on how to make you feel your best when you are done with a massage.

We offer different types of massage therapy at Expressions: deep tissue, hot rocks, 30 mins, 60 mins, 90 mins specialty, and a 120 mins specialty. Our girls also do chair massages while you are getting your hair colored or washed.

Big question for those of you who haven’t had one, what is a massage?

A massage is a relaxing treatment that has been around for thousands of years. In fact, the word “massage” comes from the Greek root “masso,” which means “to touch”. Massage therapists use a variety of gliding, kneading and cross-fiber friction strokes to work the muscle tissue, releasing tension and improving circulation.

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two.

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.

Consider calling us for a massage soon. We can work our magic to make you feel stress and ache free when you leave!
